Coastal Portrait Project
This is a project that I started in June 2019. It reflects myself and Long Island. Since moving here, I’ve discovered my style and implemented it in this project that I've been working on. As someone who didn't grow up on Long Island, or anywhere near the ocean, I feel that we are so lucky to live in a place that is a vacation destination for the majority who visit. What better backdrop for a photograph than the coast of Long Island, the South Shore beaches, or the ocean side of Fire Island? My Inspiration is natural beauty in a relaxed setting. Coastal colors and the unpredictable skyline make each photoshoot an adventure and a challenge. Each time, I get to explore a new way of working with light and people in a scene that can’t be replicated again. I do this work because it lets me take my visions and make them a reality, while also letting me connect with new people on a personal and artistic level. A portrait photographer is defined as someone who captures the personality of a person using light, backdrops, and poses. I chose portrait photography because I want to take what I know and use it to help people see the best in themselves. I am using my skills and the tools that I have to enhance natural beauty and provide my audience with something that they will want to share with everyone.
